How kidzaw all started.

Kidzaw started in 2009 at a preschool in Oak Park, Illinois.  We were trying to think of a unique way all the children could make something that parents would want to buy at auction to raise money for the school.  And did they ever.  Michelle Talbot, kidzaw's artist and founder, discovered very quickly that young children have so much energy in their art and if you give them just a little direction and custom tools, it just all falls into place.

"When kids get together as a group to create art, an amazing thing happens: They brush, mark, splatter, express and explore with color and strokes.  It’s a mish-mosh of energy and expression… a kidzaw!"

Kidzaw then became a traveling art program that guided children through the creative process of creating a painting that was inspired by a master. The end result? A totally new, original piece of art that will be used to raise money for children’s schools. And the great thing is, the children had an enriching art adventure along the way!
